You
You are the driver. You are the one who knows your pet better than anyone ever will. You can observe and describe. You are the one who communicates the symptoms to your vet. There is very rarely one course of action in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and you are the one who makes the decisions.
Your Pet
Your pet is the reason we all do what we do, and all decisions need to be based on their welfare.
Your Vet
Your vet (us) needs to listen to your concerns, examine your pet and use their knowledge and skills to provide the best possible choices for you regarding their health care. Our role is wide ranging, from giving advice on how to train a new puppy, through to the diagnosis and treatment of serious disease. Central to our work is the partnership we have with you.
As you can see to make the triangle work at its best all three points of the triangle need to be working well together. Good communication between us is essential, and we are all involved in the decision making for your pet.
